Together with our affiliate, Accreditation Canada, IQMH recognizes World Accreditation Day, a global initiative established by the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) to promote the value of accreditation. Each year, June 9 marks an important day in the global health care community to recognize the pivotal role of accreditation in advancing quality in health care.
Many of you have been engaged in some part of the laboratory accreditation cycle, whether it be preparing for an upcoming assessment, providing documents, records, objective evidence, investigating, or implementing opportunities for improvement. IQMH is no exception.
On November 30, 2020, IQMH and Accreditation Canada moved forward with their planned integration by welcoming the IQMH Centre for Accreditation to the Accreditation Canada family. IQMH Centre for Accreditation has been rebranded as Accreditation Canada Diagnostics. The IQMH Centre for Education and Echocardiography (EQI) services are also part of this transfer, while the IQMH Centre for Proficiency Testing remains within IQMH as a controlled affiliate of Accreditation Canada

Like many organizations, IQMH quickly pivoted to remote work with the COVID-19 pandemic. This was relatively easy as we were already connected remotely, accessing our network, portal and our quality management system (QMS) over the Internet.
June 9, 2020 marks World Accreditation Day (#WAD2020) a global initiative, jointly established by the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and International Accreditation Forum (IAF), to raise awareness of the importance of accreditation.
