On International Women’s Day IQMH would like to recognize the contributions and achievements of women in health care.

Every day, medical laboratories in Canada conduct thousands of tests to help diagnose and treat a wide range of health issues. These tests are crucial for identifying the underlying cause of medical conditions and providing the appropriate treatment. The skilled and dedicated women working in these laboratories, make it possible to provide accurate diagnoses and effective treatments.

The most recent data from Statistics Canada (2022) show that women make up 79.4% of health occupations.^₁ Today, we acknowledge and appreciate the dedication of these women in medical laboratory professions who contribute to the betterment of Canada’s health care system.
