IQMH has been operating as a virtual office since the physical office was closed in mid-March. Starting July 13, 2020, we gradually re-opened our physical office with a very limited number of staff on-site respecting health and safety guidelines by medical experts. The vast majority of IQMH staff have continued working from home during this early phase. With the current spike of cases in Ontario, and new measures by the province to flatten the curve, it’s prudent for us to limit and control the number of people in the office.
Last month, the IQMH Centre for Proficiency Testing released its Proficiency Testing Programs in the 2021 Catalogue.
Like many organizations, IQMH quickly pivoted to remote work with the COVID-19 pandemic. This was relatively easy as we were already connected remotely, accessing our network, portal and our quality management system (QMS) over the Internet.
The CYTO-2009 patterns-of-practice survey will be available on your site’s QView™ homepage September 28, 2020 and is due October 9, 2020.
IQMH is grateful for the commitment and support of the medical laboratory community and appreciates all the volunteers who donate their time and valuable expertise to our programs.
This month, IQMH recognizes Shahid Islam, MD, PhD, FRCPC, FCAP, The Ottawa Hospital, Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association (EORLA), Ottawa, Ontario who has served IQMH as a volunteer since 2013.
Blood cell morphologic identification is a critical component of hematology laboratory practice, and is an important diagnostic aid. Maintaining competency and achieving consistent reporting practices are ongoing challenges in this area.
The IQMH Centre for Proficiency Testing is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of the IQMH Proficiency Testing 2021 catalogue this August. We’ve been working hard to ensure that the 2021 Proficiency Testing (PT) programs meet and exceed your laboratory’s needs.
