Advancing quality and innovation in genetics was at the forefront of the 63rd Annual Great Lakes Genomics Conference (GLGC), held May 15 in Toronto, Ontario. As one of the longest-running genetics meetings in North America, GLGC brings together professionals to share knowledge and explore developments shaping the future of the field.
Representing IQMH, Corinne Piech, Genetics Consultant Technologist, delivered a presentation entitled “IQMH Genetics Proficiency Testing: Who We Are, What We Do, and Where We’re Going.” The session highlighted IQMH’s leadership in Genetics Proficiency Testing (PT), a key component in enabling the accuracy, quality, and reliability of genetic testing.
The presentation also outlined the evolution of the Genetics PT program and highlighted emerging areas of development aimed at supporting laboratories as technologies and testing methodologies continue to advance. Attendees gained insight into how IQMH is working to strengthen quality standards and adapt to the changing needs of the genetics community.
IQMH remains committed to collaboration and innovation, offering opportunities for the genetics community to engage with and contribute to ongoing program development. For laboratories, this work translates into stronger proficiency testing programs that support accurate, reliable results and help advance high-quality patient care.
