Medical Laboratory Week (April 12–18) is an opportunity to recognize the vital role that medical laboratory professionals play in patient care, public health, and the healthcare system. IQMH is proud to join laboratories and partners across Canada in celebrating the expertise, dedication, and contributions of these professionals.

Often working behind the scenes, Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLTs), Medical Laboratory Assistants/Technicians, and operational staff generate the test results that guide diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and prevention Their accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to quality are essential to safe, and timely patient care.

This week also highlights the strength of the laboratory community. Through collaboration, continuous learning and ongoing quality improvement, laboratories work together nationally and internationally to advance diagnostic excellence and patient safety.  

The daily contributions of medical laboratory professionals support informed clinical decisions, and improved outcomes for patients.
