Together with our affiliate, Accreditation Canada, IQMH recognized World Accreditation Day, a global initiative established by the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) to promote the value of accreditation.
Each year, the ILAC and IAF commemorate World Accreditation Day on June 9 to highlight the role of accreditation in advancing the quality of health care.
This year, the ILAC promoted the theme, Accreditation: Empowering Small and Medium Enterprises, to focus on how Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are essential to the global economy, driving innovation, creating jobs and supporting local communities.
Despite their significance, SMEs often face challenges in accessing international markets, demonstrating regulatory compliance, and earning consumer trust. Accreditation serves as a powerful tool to bridge these gaps, ensuring that products and services meet the highest standards of quality and safety. By fostering trust between providers and consumers, accreditation helps SMEs compete with confidence in a global marketplace.
In the field of laboratory medicine, accreditation is equally crucial. Accreditation Canada Diagnostics requires accredited medical laboratories to participate in proficiency testing programs, ensuring consistent quality and reliability. IQMH further strengthens this process by evaluating laboratories through peer comparisons, enabling them to identify testing and measurement challenges, perform risk management, refine methodologies, and improve performance.
Committed to shaping the future, IQMH continues to empower the next generation through accreditation, inspiring continuous learning and advancement in laboratory medicine.
