From April 13–19, IQMH is joining the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) to celebrate National Medical Laboratory Week. This week honours the vital role Medical Laboratory Professionals (MLPs) play in health care.

This year the CSMLS is focusing on recognizing how MLPs ‘Illuminate the Path to Diagnosis’.

MLPs are essential to the health care system, conducting millions of lab tests daily that are critical for patient care. They illuminate the path to diagnosis by analyzing blood, body fluids, tissues, cellular changes, abnormalities in chromosomes and DNA. From before birth to an individual’s final days, MLPs reveal crucial information for a patient’s health care journey.

IQMH extends a heartfelt thank you to all Medical Laboratory Professionals. Their critical role in providing accurate, timely and reliable test results is essential to the early detection and treatment of various illnesses and conditions. They illuminate the path to diagnosis supporting each and every patient throughout their health care journey by making invaluable contributions to meet the needs of the health care system.
