In 1948, countries from around the world founded the World Health Organization (WHO) to promote health and serve the vulnerable, with the goal of attaining the highest level of health and well-being of the world’s population.
This April 7, 2023, the WHO observes its 75th anniversary of World Health Day, and uses the opportunity to recognize the improvements of public health successes over the last seven decades, as well as the current health challenges we face. This year’s theme, “Health For All” aligns with the high standards of quality IQMH proficiency testing services provide, which ensures health care providers receive reliable test results to diagnose and treat patients, improving public health.
For over 40 years, IQMH has continued to deliver rigorous proficiency testing services that assess competence and quality to elevate the integrity of the medical diagnostic testing system. IQMH is one of Canada’s largest providers of medical laboratory proficiency testing and is internationally recognized through its accreditation status with The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) in accordance with the International Standard ISO/IEC 17043: 2010 Conformity assessment — General requirements for proficiency testing. In supporting laboratory quality improvement services, patients seeking answers to their health concerns can be confident in the quality and reliability of test results obtained from their health care providers. Providing consistency in quality and competence of diagnostic testing helps achieve greater confidence in the health care system, overall improving public health.
