IQMH Proficiency Testing welcomed Ekene Dada as Consultant Technologist in the Microbiology Proficiency Testing program in May 2021. Ekene graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science at Ontario Tech University in 2012 and obtained her Master of Science degree in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Western Ontario in 2014. In 2020, she obtained her certificate in Infection Prevention and Control at Queen’s University. Before joining IQMH, Ekene worked in the hospital laboratory setting for five years.

Ekene brings valuable experience from William Osler Health System microbiology laboratory where she worked as a bench technologist. Along with her bench duties, she assumed the responsibility of updating and maintaining the laboratory information system as well as the clinical educator role for microbiology medical laboratory technologist students.

Ekene is passionate about quality and looks forward to contributing to the IQMH Proficiency Testing team.
