Please join us in extending our best wishes to IQMH President, Jeff Sumner, who is retiring on March 31, 2021. Jeff has been leading IQMH since 2017 and has dedicated his career to improving the quality of medical laboratories across the country for many years.
Jeff’s vision for IQMH as a global leader in laboratory accreditation and proficiency testing led to a powerful joining of forces between IQMH and Accreditation Canada in 2020. He has been instrumental in this transition and helped to align strategy and culture as two organizations became one. Jeff also led the integration of the Echocardiography Quality Improvement (EQI) Program from CorHealth into IQMH, which further strengthens the portfolio of offerings. Jeff’s deep experience and expertise is valued by our many stakeholders including scientific committee and advisory panel members and Ministries of Health, especially during this pandemic period where IQMH has played an integral role in ensuring the quality of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) testing.
We want to take this opportunity to thank Jeff for his many contributions to IQMH and Accreditation Canada and wish him well as he moves on to enjoy his other passions including spending time with his family and new grandchild. We will miss Jeff and look forward to building on his work to keep our medical diagnostic accreditation and proficiency testing programs at the forefront of quality health care in Canada and beyond.
As previously announced, the former programs of IQMH are now part of Accreditation Canada under the leadership of Leslee Thompson, CEO. Leslee and Jeff have worked closely together over the past two years to lay the groundwork for a smooth transition, and strong future for the teams and programs from IQMH.
