Panelists include: IQMH’s Julie Coffey, ART, MLT, SMQOE, director of IQMH Centre for Education, champion of the IQMH Gender Identity Working Group that authored the white paper Care Considerations for Inclusion of Gender Diversity within Medical Laboratory Services; Heather Black, BSc, MLT, Laboratory Information System (LIS) Analyst at Sunnybrook Healthcare Centre; and B Adair, a paramedic currently studying nursing, a transgender man, founder of Spectrum Alliance: Rural Alberta Queer Support.
Health care professionals have a responsibility to use correct gender information to respectfully and properly care for all patients.
