Cancer Care Ontario is the Ontario government’s principal cancer advisor providing evidence-based knowledge and tools to health professionals, organizations and policy-makers for cancer screening and high-quality cancer care. The Ontario Cervical Screening Program (OCSP) at Cancer Care Ontario is a province-wide screening program available to eligible Ontario women providing them with access to comprehensive, coordinated, high-quality cervical screening to reduce cervical cancer incidence and mortality.
Cancer Care Ontario will be incorporating human papillomavirus (HPV) testing in the OCSP. To support and inform next steps for this work, Cancer Care Ontario is gathering information on the current laboratory landscape, as well as the interest/impact of HPV testing for community and hospital labs in Ontario, as they relate to cervical screening and colposcopy. The program would like to hear from laboratories, large and small, across the province that:
Cancer Care Ontario is inviting any laboratory interested in sharing information to respond to a Request for Information (RFI) that will be posted in December 2017 at: www.merx.com. This RFI will be posted for 30 days.
Cancer Care Ontario will reach out to laboratories who respond to the RFI to schedule a brief teleconference, questionnaire or in-person meeting.
